FC Halifax Town manage big pressure to take home 3-1 win vs Marine

Halifax continue their unbeaten start in the Alliance Division one as they beat Marine 3-1, finding the home side top of the table following the result.

The game started with Marine on top, but against the run of play, Marcel Stepnewski latched onto a short back pass and slotted home in the 4th minute making it 1-0 to Halifax early into the game.

After the early goal, the game stayed even with both sides pushing for the next goal, but the game remained 1-0 going into half time.

Marine started going long in the second half, which caused big pressure to Halifax, who changed their shape into a diamond as they looked to get more players up the pitch.

The Decision paid off as Will Bawick doubled the lead in the 60th minute, making it 2-0 with 30 minutes remaining.

Marine started to put on big pressure, with Milo Berry making a few massive saves to keep the ball out of Halifax’s net.

One save resulted in a Marine player getting sent off after retaliation.

However, Marine managed to pull one back soon after, with Halifax now looking to see out the game.

Ollie Stead put the game out of sight in the 90th minute as he made it 3-1 to Halifax, after they managed the 2-1 lead and Marine push.

The game finished 3-1 to Halifax after a tough match, with many positives to take into next week.

Next week sees FC Halifax Town U19s travel to Ossett United in the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday 1st October, 7pm kick-off
