FC Halifax Town U19B fall short in seven goal thriller vs Chorley.
Looking to build on last season’s Division 1 triumph, Halifax Town welcomed Chorley to Wyke in what was an end-to-end display against last season’s runners up.
Chorley opened the scoring within 10 minutes, before doubling their lead on the half hour mark to put them 2 goals to the good. The Shaymen managed to form an immediate response as Jaiden Parchment grabbed a goal back with an excellent strike.
Town couldn’t find an equaliser however as Chorley went 3-1 up in the 38th minute.
Chances followed as Town hit the post 3 minutes later, before Chorley went up the other end with their number 10 rattling the crossbar. Going into half-time, the score remained 3-1 to the away side.
A goalkeeping error gave Halifax Town hope as Oscar Sowden grabbed one back after half time to put the score at 3-2
Going into the final half-hour, Chorley extended their lead in the 65th minute before debutant Will Pilmer headed home to grab another goal back for Town.
Halifax Town continued to push for an equaliser in the final stages, but it wasn’t to be as the Shaymen fell to a narrow 4-3 defeat.
