A game of two halves saw FC Halifax Town draw 2-2 to Blyth Spartans after having a 2-0 lead.
Halifax dominated the first half, but missed chances gave Blyth room to come back which they did in the second half.
They pushed from the 1st minute, with the home side making it 1-0 in the 20th minute through Luke Brooks after a well worked corner found him inside the 18 yards box.
After scoring the first, they kept on working to try and double the lead, which they did in spectacular fashion as Barney scored a stunning left footed volley into the top corner, making it 2-0 in the 30th minute.
Back-to-back big chances missed by Halifax meant that they were unable to extend their lead after Barney missed a big chance in the 35th minute and Tinos missed a big one on one soon after in the 38th minute.
Blyth could’ve found themselves 3 or 4 nil down before the break, but they capitalised on Halifax’s missed chances and made it 2-1 in the 43rd minute.
The second half saw the tables turn and Blyth become the better team as they looked to gain something from the game.
Their hard work paid off as they found their equaliser and gained a deserved point in the end as the match finished 2-2.
Next week Halifax U19s face AFC Fylde in the next round of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday 15th October.
