AFC Fylde: Match Report

FC Halifax Town U19s came out with a 2-0 victory in the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup.
Fylde controlled the first twenty minutes after a slow start from Halifax.
A quick counterattack saw Barney find Sam Finch who gave Halifax the lead with a brilliant chip.
The rest of the first half fizzled out, and the two teams went into the break with the score being 1-0 to Halifax.
Early into the second half Fylde had a couple of big chances, with Kobe Mathers making a great diving save from a header in the box.
Halifax grew into the second half and made it 2-0 in the 76th minute after some great play down the right from Barney Wiggin and a great cross which found Sam Finch at the back post to tap in his second of the game.
After gaining the 2-0 lead, Halifax saw out the last 10 minutes with ease and are into the next round.
Halifax have drawn Oldham in the next round of the FA Youth Cup.
Next, Halifax U19s face Stourbridge FC in the 1st round of the Alliance Cup on Wednesday 22nd October.
